When to go
All year round
This adventure takes place near Crickhowell (Wales), a picturesque town known for its adventurous activities. If you’re looking for a fun biking experience, then the Black Mountains are a must. All kit can be arranged, so you just need a sense of adventure!
On the day you can expect your guide to meet you at 9.30am at your accommodation in Crickhowell or in a local cafe. From there you will set off into the Black Mountains, enjoying a mixture of forest trails, mountain paths and some technical descents.
With some 200km of superb natural trails, the guide will choose the best route for your group, ensuring all have an awesome day out. Sharing skills and tips, the guide will help you become a proficient all round rider.
Lunch will be had on route or in a local pub or cafe depending on the group's wishes. The exhilarating day out typically finishes at 4.00pm.
All in all this is a fantastic option because it’s super easy to travel to Crickhowell and it requires minimal kit. We recommend you first contact the guide to agree a date, then book your accommodation. Adventure sorted!
Huw Dullea is a highly experienced Mountain Bike Leader and expert in delivering unique adventures for people. He's a local and knows every nook and cranny of this area he calls his playground. He loves to share stories and will make you see this lovely landscape in a whole new way. He also loves flapjacks!
Optional extras include bike hire for an extra £30 per day, which will be dropped off at your accommodation or you can pick up in the morning.
If you want to take a group of more than 8 people then an additional guide can be arranged for an extra £160/day.

How to get there
Train to Crickhowell
London Paddington to Newport and then change for Abergavenny. From Abergavenny take the 43 bus to the Square in Crickhowell (14 stops). The journey from London takes around 3 hours.
Car to Crickhowell
London to Crickhowell takes around 3 hours 10 mins via the M4 to Newport. Then take Exit 24 from the M4 onto the A449 and then the A40 and A465 to Crickhowell.
We had a wonderful weekend of mountain biking. Top class guiding, helpful advice and brilliant routes. Thoroughly recommend it.
Absolutely brilliant: full day's riding, pitched it just right, interesting climbs and really fun and challenging descents. Definitely coming back for more.
