Beginners with good fitness
When to go
April to September
This adventure takes place near Hathersage (Peak district), a popular traditional village. If you’re looking for an excellent introduction to rock climbing, then a day spent at the crags nearby is a must.
On the day you can expect your guide to meet you at 8.30am in Hathersage Cafe, where you'll discuss the day's plan. You'll then head out to the chosen climbing location to setup. Time to get climbing!
Nothing compares to the adrenaline and focus you get when climbing. Surrounded by the wilderness, you'll feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of life. Technical instruction can be given if you want to hone your skills or learn to safely set up ropes so you can climb independently at a beginner level. You'll finish the day feeling pumped and exhausted.
All in all this is a fantastic option because it’s very easy to organise and requires minimal kit or fitness. We recommend you first send the guide a booking request to agree a date. Then book your accommodation. Adventure sorted!
George 'Geo' MacIntyre has spent the past 40 years exploring mountains around the world, from Alpine sport climbs to technical Big Wall climbing. His experience is vast and he loves to pass on his absolute love of climbing and technical knowledge to his clients. Geo is well know for his friendly, informative and fun style.
Optional extras include booking additional days of instruction (ask the guide).

If a small group the guide can give you a lift to the climbing location from your accommodation in or around Hathersage.

Geo is a highly competent climber in all aspect of rock and wall climbing. I cannot recommend Geo highly enough.
I have really enjoyed the course. I feel I have learnt a lot and feel much more confident. Excellent!
