Our woodland craft days and adventures are an innovative, proven way of allowing children to develop and grow by spending time outside in a safe and supportive environment.
The Adventures are based on principle Forest School teaching techniques, which are proven to increase children’s motivation, confidence and communication skills.
Scott "Skip" Innes is the Founder and main leader of the Surry Hills Adventure Company (SHAC). SHAC is a family run business based in the heart of the Surrey Hills. Skip is an experienced multi discipline adventure leader with a number of qualifications including forest school practitioner, mountain bike skills instructor and RYCA. In addition to Scott, the SHAC teams has a full roster of guides including Julie Willard-Innes, Kirsty Porter, Matthew Quorroll and Josh Battenberg Their motto is: “Think Outside, No Box Required.”

How to get there
CAR TO SURREY HILLS
From central London it takes between 1-1.5 hours to drive to the Surrey Hills. Belomont School is located a few miles south of the A25 between Dorking and Guildford. Google Maps or your Sat Nav can direct you - look for routes via the A3 or A24 heading south of the M25 from London.
TRAIN TO DORKING
Train plus a local taxi route will take 1 hr 15 mins to 2 hours from London. There are regular mainline train services to Dorking from London Victoria. Then you will need to either get a local taxi or a local bus (no 22) plus a short walk to Belmont School.
We just used SHAC for our son's 6th birthday party and it was brilliant. Skip was a fantastic host and managed to keep 20 kids fully engaged. Great variety of activities focused on the woodland and we all learned something too (even the adults). Thanks Skip!
